Release of the EP «THE SKULL» by Brazilian producer ˆL_, picked up by the German label Antime

The producer's real name is Luis Fernando and he adopted the stage name ^L_ (pronounced "control L").

Born and living in Brazil, ^L_ seeks to adopt the concepts of alienation and entropy in each of his themes.

Luis Fernando defines the sound of his project as a mix of techno, breakbeat, hard techno, acid, Dark ambient and even gabber. He likes to use these contrasts.

His greatest references are Aphex Twin, Plastic Man, Einstürzende Neubauten, Emmanuel Top and the entire techno scene produced in Germany (largely because he lives there), such as industrial techno.

He likes to investigate among the placidity of the ambient and the violence of drill and bass and even digital hardcore. In terms of concept, it tries to address themes such as alienation and entropy. It uses samples from films, book titles, etc.

As a main project ahead, there is the promotion of the artist's current release entitled 'THE SKULL', edited and hosted by Antime Records, from Berlin.

He already has a new release, which will be published by the same label early next year. He plans to return to Berlin in 2022, where he should record a new disk in collaboration with the German channel Bad Stream. They have already recorded one, called 'Postbrutalim'.

^L_'s new work is THE SKULL, a truly striking work that breaks with the style that the artist had been adopting in his productions.

Both the title track and 'Terror Turbo' use dance music as a motto, but they modify and twist its structures until something totally new emerges. It's a music marked by a sense of destruction, alienation and dystopia, basic themes of the album's production.

The change between ^L_'s last work and THE SKULL may have been motivated by a period of depression the artist recently faced. A moment used as fuel for new productions, which directly influenced THE SKULL's motto.

"I became a different person, a person who sometimes even scares me. Because during that period I fell into a state of deep depression," reveals.

Obviously, the producer's personal change could not go unnoticed in his latest work.

The EP's cover is a painting made by himself, a new artistic work that ^L_ is exploring and that pushes him even further to produce music.

The illustration of the publication is composed of a skullIn this regard, Luis explains that "the skull serves as a metaphor for his current emotional state."
