The renowned artist of the electronic music scene, Business Man, takes a bold step into the sonic future with the release of his latest project, «ILLEGAL LOCKDOWN». This album from the label Microm Records which is released on November 30, 2023, follows in the footsteps of his acclaimed previous work, «DREAMSCAPE», promises to transport listeners on a unique sonic journey, imbued with strength and rebellion.

In response to the illegal blockade that marked March 2020, Negocius Man chose to turn on his Ensoniq EPS16+ and other machines, combined with select pieces of software. Aimed at sculpting a new sonic future, the result is an authentic 90s Detroit sound, reimagined with the tools and technical limitations that defined that era.

Spanish techno legend Groof makes his masterful debut on the XL Series with an avant-garde eight-track album

Koryu Budo Records excitedly announces the addition of Spanish techno legend, Groof, to its prestigious XL series. Roberto Gemelin, known for his pioneering contribution to the electronic scene since the 1990s, has forged a distinguished path under various monikers, being one of the first techno producers to release on international labels. His impressive discography spans three decades, with releases on renowned labels such as Warm Up Recordings, Fieber Records, Cellophan, Minifunk, SUB_tl, among others.

This special release features eight tracks of advanced techno, exploring a spectrum from the mental and hypnotic to the broken and industrial, and from the arpeggiated to the beatless.

The album starts with «Gender Role», an elastic mental exercise where metallic and processed components float above a solid bass drum, merging with white noise-based percussion elements. Hypnotic strings join in to create a powerful tool for the mind and body.

Continuing with a similar approach, «Blue» features crisp drum programming, bleeping synth lines and an ever-evolving progressive arrangement. Flipping the vinyl over, we're met with the broken rhythms of «Feel and Understand», combining distorted kick drums with rubbery sequences in a cleverly designed structure.

The B side closes with «Klonger», which deploys obsessive metallic beats that are repeated to the point of madness, offering a powerful industrial rhythm for the most experienced DJs.

The second vinyl starts with «Negative One», a return to martial rhythm that combines precise percussion work with floating and liquid components. It is followed by «Coercive Anonymous», which explores the deeper side of techno through textures and drones combined with a relentless rhythm.

Side C starts with «Zero», providing a solid, distorted beat with metallic details and sci-fi sequences, offering top-notch futuristic vibes. The album says goodbye with «Nothing To Fear», an arpeggiated synth solo evoking the old Berlin School of Electronica of the 1970s.
