3POLAR presents their latest work «PAINSTORMING»
At 24 years old, 3POLAR, born in Bogotá but resident in Madrid, is one of the prominent components of the scene current madrilenian. Co-founder and resident of Insane Faces, 3POLAR has collaborated with emerging artists such as Ari Jani, Pavvvvvvlo and Santek, leaving his mark on Madrid venues such as Muv, Specka, Studio76 and Republik.
His beginnings in the creation of rap and trap beats evolved towards electronic music, leading him to immerse himself in techno with groover overtones. This young Colombian seeks a balanced fusion between his two musical worlds, combining techno with other genres such as Bass and UK Garage, influenced by the sound of the United Kingdom.
3POLAR's latest work, PAINSTORMING, is a seven-track EP that explores different rhythms, on a journey bathed in bass, breaks and percussion. Each track takes its place as time goes by, from the Intro that pays tribute to his grandmother to the closing with «When I Miss Myself», with vocals from her best friend Ceci.
EP Tracks // PAINSTORMING :
Intro: This track opens the EP with an atmosphere full of emotion, referencing the famous song "La gata bajo la lluvia" by Rocío Durcal. It is a tribute to the grandmother of 3POLAR, where the important details are recognizable.
Baldur´s Mistletoe: Inspired by early UK Garage and UK Bass sounds, this track features vocals recorded in the city of York, interpreting the Norse myth of The Mistletoe and the death of Balder. After a revision on the 'Producer's Feedback', it took a more club-focused form.
Calling My Therapist: With a basic structure of a techno track, this track is intended as a versatile tool for the club, but it also speaks for itself. The name is associated with the process of falling and recovering in a therapy, reflected in the progression of the percussion and the melody.
Gangsta´s K HoleStanding out as the jewel of the EP, this track is characterized by its prominence of kick, broken beats and jungle tints in each breakdown. It includes a vocal taken from an acapella of "Don't You Worry Child" by Swedish House Mafia.
Night on the 15th: Representing the classic “morning gone wrong,” this song uses modulated synth leads to express the indecision between going home or continuing to party. Inspired by the ideas of Insane Faces, it captures the atmosphere of late nights in the studio.
Westwood´s Dream: Inspired by Vivienne Westwood, a legend in the history of punk, this track seeks to take the listener to the end of the journey through breaks that fill the high frequencies, leaving space for the main reese bass. It reflects on the prostitution of punk by the mainstream.
When I Miss MyselfClosing the EP, this track features vocals from 3POLAR bandmate Ceci. Originally intended for another cut, it ended up being part of the album's closing track. It speaks about the experience of missing oneself and the search for identity.
Each track of «PAINSTORMING» reflects the diversity of influences and the constant search for new sounds by 3POLAR, offering a unique and immersive experience for the listener.
