Monument Festival 2025: a sonic and human journey through the Norwegian woods
Arriving in Veggli, feels like stepping into a parenthesis of the world. From July 31 to August 3,the Norwegian village once again became a refuge where ambient, nature and community intertwine in a single heartbeat. Monument Festival is not simply a festival: it is an immersive experience that invites you to pause, listen, and reconnect.
A conscious welcome
From the very first moment the warmth of the reception made a difference. The organization carefully checked every backpack to ensure that no glass entered the grounds—a measure to protect and respect the natural surroundings. Thanks to this, walking barefoot across grass, soil, and tree trunks became an everyday joy, a liberating feeling rarely found at a festival.
Nobody left trash behind—everyone took care of the space. The organization even gifted a pocket ashtray and reminded each attendee to bring or purchase their own reusable cup, which was used for all drinks. Small gestures that, combined, built a harmonious and sustainable coexistence.
Rhythm by day, rest by night
Something unique about Monument is that it is designed to be enjoyed by day, in harmony with the environment. At night, the festival invites rest, silence and deep sleep. And yet, there was always room for resistance: a group of attendees set up their own tent as a silent disco, keeping the pulse of dance alive for those who wanted to extend the experience.
One of the most beautiful moments was waking up in the morning, having a coffee, and sitting on a tree trunk, surrounded by forest, while ambient music filled the air. A simple routine that became almost ceremonial.
A line-up that touched the sublime
The musical journey of Monument Festival was diverse and carefully crafted, but three moments engraved themselves with special intensity in memory:
Rosillon
His session was a tribute to the purity of the analog format. The selection of hidden gems carried the audience into a hypnotic, deep, and warm state. One of those performances that remind us why vinyl remains a unique language in electronic music.
*The shared session does not correspond to the Monument set. That day, the music was unique and unrepeatable.
Xiaolin
Her proposal took techno into an unexpected dimension. With a set full of energy, precise beats, and enveloping textures, Xiaolin incorporated the violin as a visceral, electrifying element. Between driving rhythms and soaring string melodies, her performance felt like a contemporary ritual that made the forest come alive from start to finish.

Beatrice M B2B Bambi
Two artists in perfect harmony who delivered perhaps the most elegant yet danceable set of the entire festival. With a selection that moved from international to dub techno, from breaks to intelligent drum&bass, their set was a dynamic and sophisticated journey, full of subtleties and unexpected turns. Each track seemed to converse with the previous one, maintaining flawless coherence while still surprising with every transition. A masterful back-to-back that left a lasting mark on the Varden Stage.

Beyond the music
Monument is not only about music: it is about community, consciousness, and care. From yoga to culinary experiences, and spontaneous gatherings around the fire, everythingwas designed to nourish body, mind, and spirit.
A place to always return
Monument Festival is a destination, a ritual and a refuge. A place to lose yourself and find yourself again. More than a festival, it is a reminder of the essential: that we all share the same heartbeat. A date that deserves to be marked in the calendar year after year.
