The Sense of Music

LFO Club presents CICLO: its new format between discourse and club

LFO Club presents CICLO: its new format between discourse and club – March 28, Madrid

An invitation to rethink how the scene is built

LFO launches CICLO, its first cycle of activities conceived as a hybrid space between thought and dancefloor — designed to open up conversations around what it means to build, sustain, and project community within contemporary electronic music.

Beyond the club context, LFO proposes a meeting point to articulate what often remains outside the spotlight: the processes, tensions, and frameworks that make the scene possible.

A roundtable on building from the outside

This first edition is structured around a roundtable bringing together the people behind three independent festivals:

RIT/MO Festival — a gathering in Sierra Elvira (Granada) exploring the relationship between sound, landscape, and collective experience through an intimate format.

Refractor Festival an XS-format project by Organic Signs, connecting music, scenographic narrative, and natural surroundings along the Tagus river (Toledo).

Dial Forest a new initiative born in the Galician forest (Baixa Limia–Serra do Xurés, Ourense), proposing a dialogue between electronic music, contemporary creation, and territory.

Three different contexts, yet shaped by the same underlying question:

how are festivals built outside traditional circuits?

The conversation will address key topics such as self-management, collective care, collaborative models, and the real tensions involved in sustaining independent cultural projects.

From discourse to the dancefloor

Following the roundtable, the night shifts into club format, where speakers and moderators take over the booth to translate their perspectives into sound.

A gesture aligned with CICLO’s core intention: to reflect on the scene, but also to inhabit it.

An open invitation

At a time when the idea of “scene” is constantly invoked, CICLO X CLUB LFO raises a direct question:

how much are we actually doing to sustain it?

The event stands as an invitation to listen, question, and engage — both through dialogue and through dance.
