Vegim – Magnetopause EP: The Art of Tension in Balkan Techno
In a scene saturated with fast formulas and drops designed for fleeting consumption, Kosovo-born producer based in Croatia, Vegim, operates on a different level. With his new release Magnetopause, out on March 26 via TMM Recordings, there are no shortcuts or compromises.

His identity has been shaped by the rawness that defines part of contemporary Balkan techno, closely linked to more industrial and mental strands of the European circuit. This is evident from the very first groove: a solid narrative built on tension, space, and total control of sound. This 12” works as a club weapon, but also as an immersive piece for those seeking more than pure functionality.
Pressure, space and the weight of narrative
Magnetopause operates in constant friction. This is not techno for casual listening—it’s an immersion where the space between sounds matters as much as the kick itself.
Side A begins the mental descent with “The Future,” a landscape of static and atmosphere where groove takes a back seat while a voice sets the tone for the unknown. Without breaking that thread, “My Thoughts Are Not Facts” enters, and tension becomes physical—firm, functional, and direct. The A side closes with “Nothing Could Go Wrong,” more abstract and restrained, preparing the ground for what follows.
On the B side, the record reveals its full force. The title track, “Magnetopause,” hits with hypnotic and relentless pressure. “Deployable Structures” is pure tension engineering, tightening the chest as textures shift and destabilize the sonic space. In “Look Inside Me,” the energy folds inward into a more introspective layer, before closing with “Rendered Speechless,” a no-compromise ending that leaves a spatial echo and the listener suspended in an infinite thought.
Texture and meticulous control
The mastering by Boris acts as the invisible glue of the record. There is punch and definition, but above all, respect for Vegim’s original intention. Nothing feels overprocessed—each element finds its place without losing character. The artwork by Kobalt follows the same direction, with a sober, futuristic aesthetic that reinforces the identity of the vinyl.

A 12” that refuses to compromise
Magnetopause is neither immediate nor accommodating. It is a demanding work that requires attention and, in return, delivers pure character. Vegim has not made a club record—he has designed a technical immersion that forces you inward, and what lies there can be as dark as it is fascinating.

A record of complex architectures that avoids the easy path—when the echo fades, its frequencies remain within.
