Sandwich Club organizes a monthly electronic event at Café La Palma

They are starting a collaboration with Paquitaplatos, founder of Basspirit Magazine. On February 12, 2022, Paquitaplatos will be part of the Sandwich Club line up

From Basspirit Magazine we are pleased to be able to present a duo of artists who never cease to surprise us every month at the Madrid club Café La Palma. Mechudo, DJs and producers, has started this initiative with the aim of recovering the dance floor as a refuge where people can dance and discover new sounds and genres, with the fantastic seasoning of JAVILOSTCONTROL and his psychedelic, yet extravagant visuals that make the evening a magnificent journey with no return.

Their musical union was born from a noise rock group called Tourmalet in which they played a few years ago. Additionally, after a trip to the ADE from Amsterdam, is when they decided to create Mechudo to fully enter the world of electronic production, with darkness as a link with their previous project. Their style breathes influences from acid, electro and industrial.

Nacho Tourmalet and JAVILOSTCONTROL have a long background in the underground music scene. In 2019 they released the double single "Digitisierte Schleife / Ágyptische Göttin", chosen by MondoSonoro as one of the best self-releases of the summer, and their first EP “Elektronik für die ganze familie”.

Influenced by the atmosphere of the outskirts of Madrid where they grew up, both releases maintain the rough and dark sound of their previous work, but as part of their continuous evolution, they tear down the old claustrophobic landscapes to make their way with sounds expansive and showing greater breadth and depth in these topics.

Shaggy (@mechudo__) continues its trajectory in 2020, a cursed year, with the publications of the singles «COVID-19» and «Benidorm 1984». The anguish of confinement inspires these two works; the first one is mechanical and repetitive, it could well be a remake of the BSO From Chaplin's “Modern Times” takes us back to teleworking, exercising at home and, in general, to that period of prison routine to which we were all forced.

In the same way and by the hand of SKTVT, Cora Novoa's seal, Shaggy publishes his new EP «The Mirror», 3 themes created at a distance together with ElenQ, an artist based in Toulouse (France). In this new work, the collaboration with ElenQ leads them to explore new terrain. Searching for space for lyrics, they create solid bases of dark techno with analog synthesizers that bring them closer to artists such as Marie Davidson or Helena Hauff.

These two artists and creators of sound, in addition to enveloping you in their melodies, organize line-ups one Saturday a month at the Madrid club Café La Palma where they bring in guest DJs with the best disco, electro and tech house rhythms. 

For the next edition of Sandwich Club (@sandwichclub_madrid) on February 12th they will have in the cabin Dani R., one of the most renowned DJs in Terrazza Barcelona (one of the few open-air clubs in Europe) and, as we have mentioned at the beginning, our Paquitaplatos where he will delight us with sounds micro house and micro minimal to vinyl.
